A recent survey of 500 businesses gives us some great insight into what employees consider the most mundane tasks taking up time in their workday. The results? The top five all involve some form of data entry or data input. They are:

  • Invoicing
  • Customer and account maintenance
  • Inventory/parts/supplies ordering
  • Quality assurance and regression testing
  • Job posting creation

While these tasks might not be torturous as one-offs, when you have to send dozens of invoices, manually update customer records and have little transparency about assets and inventory levels, the time and effort to manage these responsibilities takes its toil on a team’s productivity and efficiency. After all, human nature being what it is, most of us are happy to use any excuse necessary to shirk the most stultifying items on our to-do lists.

Of course, there is a solution to the costly dullness of data entry -- workflow automation.

Currently, only 56% of creative teams use software to manage projects, assets, finances and content reviews, but with two-thirds of teams reporting that software tops their list of non-personnel expenses, this number is set to grow.

We’re such believers in the power of workflow automation to help you work smarter instead of harder (i.e., more creative projects, less data entry), we wrote a whole guide about it! In What You Need To Know To Supercharge Your Creative Workflow, you’ll learn the secrets of the 56% of teams who are already eliminating the dullness of data entry, along with avoiding costly bottlenecks, improving their team communication and better managing their assets and documents.
